So long has Newfoundland been the outsider, the poor country cousin around which a whole body of Newfie jokes quickly sprang up; and perhaps in reaction, perhaps as the perpetual outsider, Newfoundland gave birth to a generation of Newfoundland comics who redefined humour for the rest of the country ... so long as times were hard for Newfoundland, and good for the rest of the country.

Now that the weather vane has turned, is Geri Hall's attempt to be seen as out of touch, or simply as turn and turn about?
